Almost all countries in the world have their own national sports or games. Few national sports are the same with another country.

Country Games

Pato is a horseback game which is the national sport of Argentina.

Bangladesh-flag          Bangladesh Kabaddi is a national sport of Bangladesh, which consists of two teams, each team maximum 10-12 players and 7 players in the field and 5 remaining players are substitutes.

Capoeira– Everybody knows that football is popular sport in Brazil, but Capoeira, martial art for self defence,  is a national game in Brazil which is part of Brazilian culture and history for over 400 years.

Chile Chilean rodeo (In Chilean rodeo, a team (called a collera) consisting of two riders (called Huasos) and two horses ride laps around an arena trying to stop a calf, pinning it against large cushions.
Colombia

Tejo is Colombia’s official national sport, designated by Congress. And quite a unique sport it is, combining horseshoes-style tossing and a bit of gunpowder, all lubricated by a generous flow of beer.

Mexico

Charreria is the official national sport of Mexico. But more than just a sport, it represents Mexican culture, tradition and history as it involves equestrian competitions in which horse riding, roping and cattle handling come in to play.

Korea (Rep.)

Arnis is a generic term for the deadly martial arts of the Philippines. It contains both bare hand and weaponry arts – everything that has got to do with fighting. The  bare hand combat include boxing, wrestling, grappling, pressure points and locks.  Weaponry arts include swords, sticks, knives, nunchakus and all sorts of “weapons of convenience” like the handkerchief, walking stickicks, jumping and spinning kicks, and fast kicking techniques.

Sri Lanka

Volleyball is a team sport in which two teams of six players are separated by a net. Each team tries to score points by grounding a ball on the other team’s court under organized rules.

Uruguay Gaucho is a word with several meanings. One of them, this is a national sports of Uruguay.
Afghanistan

Buzkashi (literally “goat dragging” in Persian), also known as kokpar kupkari and ulak tartysh is the Central Asian sport in which horse-mounted players attempt to place a goat or calf carcass in a goal. It is the national sport of Afghanistan, although it was banned under the Taliban regime.

Anguilla

Yacht racing is a form of sport involving yachts and larger sailboats, as distinguished from dinghy racing. It is composed of multiple yachts, in direct competition, racing around a course marked by buoys or other fixed navigational devices or racing longer distances across open water from point-to-point.

Cricket is a bat and ball game, played between two teams of eleven players each. One team bats, attempting to score runs, while the other bowls and fields the ball, attempting to restrict the scoring and dismiss the batsmen.

Bhutan

Archery is the sport, practice or skill of using a bow to propel arrows. The word comes from the Latin arcus. Historically, archery has been used for hunting and combat.

China

Table tennis, also known as ping pong, is a sport in which two or four players hit a lightweight ball back and forth across a table using a small paddle. The game takes place on a hard table divided by a net.

Colombia Association

Football is a family of team sports that involve, to varying degrees, kicking a ball to score a goal. Unqualified, the word football is understood to refer to whichever form of football is the most popular in the regional context in which the word appears.

Cuba

Baseball is a bat-and-ball game played between two teams of nine players each, who take turns batting and fielding.

Finland Pesäpallo both names literally meaning “nest ball”, also referred to as “Finnish baseball” is a fast-moving bat-and-ball sport that is quite often referred to as the national sport of Finland.

India

Field hockey can be played on a grass field or a turf field as well as an indoor board surface. Each team plays with eleven players including the goalie.

Ireland Gaelic are sports played in Ireland under the auspices of the Gaelic Athletic Association (GAA). Gaelic football and hurling are the two main games. Other games organised by the GAA include Gaelic handball and rounders.

New Zealand

Rugby union is a contact team. One of the two codes of rugby football, it is based on running with the ball in hand. This game is between two teams of 15 players (two more than rugby league) using an oval-shaped ball on a rectangular field with H-shaped goalposts on each try line.

Skiing is a mode of transport, recreational activity and competitive winter sport in which the participant uses skis to glide on snow.

Papua New Guinea

Rugby league is a full contact sport played by two teams of thirteen players (two fewer than rugby union) on a rectangular field.

Peru

A wooden paddle and a black rubber ball are required to play Paleta Frontón. The court contains a concrete wall 5 meters high by 6 meters wide. There are lines on the court limiting the play area and marking the reception zones, similar to tennis.
