Despite of beting Argentina, Bangladesh are out of Kabadi World Cup 2016. Bangladesh finished 3rd in the six-team Group A to be eliminated from the Kabaddi World Cup although they beat all-loser Argentina by 67-26 points with four lonas in the last group match in the Indian city of Ahmedabad in Gujarat on Wednesday. Bangladesh led the first half by 33-15 points with one lona.

South Korea and holders Indian reached the semifinals as the champions and runners-up of Group A securing 25 and 21 points respectively while Bangladesh were crushed out from the group stage securing 16 points.

In the Group B, Iran booked a seat for the semifinal securing 20 points while Kenya (16), Thailand (11) and Japan (11) battle for the other semifinal spot playing five, four and four matches respectively.

In the semifinal of Friday, South Korea will play Group B runners-up (Kenya/Thailand/Japan) while Iran will play hosts India in the other semifinal on Friday.

Bangladesh made a flying start in the world cup beating England by 52-18 points and recorded the biggest margin win outplaying Australia by 80-8 points. But they were eliminated from the World meet losing to South Korea by 32-35 points and to India by 20-57.

The top two teams of the two groups qualify for the semifinal.
