Dhaka dynamites roar back

Defending champions Dhaka Dynamites beat Khulna Titans by 65 runs in the 4th match of the Bangladesh T20 Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) at Sylhet International Cricket Stadium on Sunday to capture their first win.

Dynamites lost the first game by nine wickets against Sylhet Sixers who lead the points table with all four points winning after a four-wicket win over Comilla Victorians in Sunday’s first game.

After winning the toss, Khulna Titans captain Mahmudullah opted to field first. Two blistering half-centuries from Evin Lewis and Cameron Delport helped Dhaka to post a big total of 202 for 7 in 20 overs. Lewis scored the highest knock of 66 while Delport scored 64. Abu Jayed and Shafiul Islam shared 2 wickets each.

In reply, Khulna Titans did not have the ideal start after losing 2 wickets for 8. Jofra Archer, Chadwick Walton and Rilee Rossouw tried to put some fightback but failed as Khulna lost wickets in regular interval and were all out for 137 in 18.1 overs. Abu Haydar Rony bagged 3 wickets for 13 for Dhaka Dynamites. Cameron Delport was named Man of the Match.

Dhaka Dynamites : 202/7 in 20 overs (Lewis 66, Delport 64, Sangakkara 20; Abu Jayed 2/29, Shafiul 2/41, Brathwaite 1/34)

Khulna Titans : 137/10 in 18.1 overs (Archer 36, Walton 30, Rossouw 23; Abu Haydar 3/13, Shakib 2/25, Naraine 2/32)

Result : Dhaka Dynamites won by 65 runs.
